Our Story
Pioneers of modern Indian dining in the Midwest
In 2019, Manish and Rina Mallick opened ROOH Chicago, now ROOP Chicago, in the West Loop. It brought a new kind of Indian restaurant to the Midwest: progressive, seasonal and cocktail-forward, made for sharing. That same year it was recognized in the MICHELIN Guide, and it has been there ever since.
Soirée Hospitality Group grew from that first dining room. Today we run four Chicago restaurants, each with its own personality, all owned and operated by the same family team.

ROOP Chicago
Modern Indian cuisine and the restaurant that started it all. Recognized in the MICHELIN Guide since 2019.
Bar Goa
A Goan-inspired bar and kitchen with coastal flavors and inventive cocktails.
Monarch & Lion
A British pub, proudly serving chicken tikka masala, the national dish of the UK, alongside pub classics.
Yasemi
Mediterranean dining inside The Godfrey Hotel Chicago, from breakfast through late dinner.

$55 per person · 2 hours · All day
Unlimited food at a MICHELIN Guide restaurant. Order dish after dish from the ROOP kitchen for two hours, any time we're open. Drinks are not included.
Feeding Chicago
In 2020, while dining rooms were closed, our kitchen partnered with World Central Kitchen to cook meals for Chicagoans in need, work the Associated Press featured that July. In 2022, Manish Mallick was honored with the Pride of India Award.
Our Founders
Manish Mallick
Manish co-founded ROOH Chicago (now ROOP) in 2019 and today owns and operates ROOP Chicago, Bar Goa, Monarch & Lion and Yasemi. He leads operations and finance, and builds the systems that let the group grow without losing the warmth of a family restaurant. In 2022 he received the Pride of India Award.
Before hospitality, Manish spent his career in marketing, finance and technology, driving operational efficiency with cloud technology at some of the icons of the US economy: General Motors, JPMorgan Chase and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. His favorite part of the job hasn't changed: meeting new people, building real connections and serving communities in need.
Rina Mallick
Rina co-founded ROOH Chicago (now ROOP) in 2019 and leads branding, design, marketing, digital, social media and events for ROOP Chicago, Bar Goa, Monarch & Lion and Yasemi. A lifelong love of food, travel and travel photography is what first drew the Mallicks to the restaurant world.
Rina spent more than 20 years in advertising, most recently as Group Creative Director at Critical Mass, specializing in branding, digital and social media for clients including Jeep, Lincoln, Sprint, Nissan, Johnson & Johnson, ASICS and DePaul University.
